Mr. Patrik Doucet is engineer and professor at the Mechanical Engineering Department of Université de Sherbrooke, since September 2000. He has been elected Dean of the Engineering Faculty in June 2013, after having served as vice-dean for education during four years. He holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering, a Ph.D. in Education (Universite de Sherbrooke) and a Ph.D. in Sciences of Information and Communication (Universite de Technologie de Compiegne, France).
His main area of expertise is in the product development process. He is particularly specialized in taking into account occupational health and safety aspects in industrial machine design. In addition to his activities at the Engineering Faculty, he gives trainings and expertises in risk assessment and design for safety, for many organisations. He also carries out educational reform mandates for engineers training institutions.
