Are you passionate about optoelectronics, precision assembly and technological innovation?

Join C2MI and contribute to the development and optimization of next-generation optical assembly processes. Reporting to the Technical Director, you will play a key role in developing innovative assembly processes, ensuring their smooth operation and helping to transfer them to other companies for commercialization.

As an optoelectronics professional, you will be responsible for optimizing active and passive optical alignment processes, developing optoelectronics assembly processes, and advancing emerging technologies such as photonic wirebond. Your technical expertise, combined with your collaborative approach, will be instrumental in shaping the future of manufacturable optical integration.

 

Responsabilities

  • Develop, characterize and optimize assembly processes for optoelectronic devices according to customer mandates (bonding of microprocessors or optical components, alignment of optical fibers/lasers, waveguide printing, etc.).
  • Carry out projects according to optoelectronic assembly best practices, taking into account manufacturing and industrialization constraints.
  • Contribute to the development and qualification of new technologies, in particular photonic wirebond, in collaboration with internal and external experts.
  • Rigorously document processes, tests and results to support technological maturity and transfer to production.
  • Prioritize mandates and manage resources (equipment, materials, personnel) according to deadlines and strategic requirements. Be able to write, read and speak English with our international customers.
  • Provide accurate data analysis (quality, costs, cycle times) to support business decisions.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor within area of expertise.

 

Skills required

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering physics, optical engineering, photonics, applied physics or related field.
  • Master’s degree (M.Sc. or M.Eng.), an asset.

Experience:

  • 2 to 5 years’ experience in optoelectronic, photonic or microelectronic assembly process development.
  • Experience in characterizing and optimizing active and passive optical alignment processes, an asset.
  • Experience with fiber optic systems.
  • Experience in technical interaction with customers, an asset.

Skills:

  • Mastery of high-precision optical alignment techniques (fibers, lasers, photonic devices).
  • Use and programming of automated or semi-automated assembly equipment.
  • Ability to analyze experimental data, including basic statistical knowledge, to optimize processes.
  • Strong technical documentation skills.
  • Excellent command of French and English (oral and written).
  • Excellent communication and interaction skills with multidisciplinary teams and industrial customers.
  • Rigor, autonomy and initiative.
