IBM Canada’s plant in Bromont, Quebec is one of North America’s largest chip assembly and testing facilities, transforming advanced semiconductor components into state-of-the-art microelectronic solutions. The plant has operated in the region for more than 52 years.
Mission
The solutions developed at the plant contribute to Canada’s role in the North American semiconductor supply chain, and anchor Canadian advanced packaging and test capabilities. The plant also plays a role in IBM’s semiconductor R&D leadership alongside IBM’s facilities at the Albany NanoTech Complex and throughout New York’s Hudson Valley.
Competence
IBM Canada’s Bromont plant is further committed to promoting innovation, technology, and continuous improvement through research activities and product and process development. It is part of a collaborative ecosystem known as the Technum Québec Innovation Zone with partners such as the Centre de Collaboration MiQro Innovation (C2MI) and the University of Sherbrooke, and is home to Canada’s IBM Quantum System One computer.
