It serves as the essential link between applied research and the commercialization of microelectronics products.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the Assistant Controller will, in collaboration with the Financial Controller, perform the full accounting cycle and maintain C2MI’s general ledgers and related reconciliations. The position also involves participation in the annual financial audit and various special projects aimed at improving accounting processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the controller in preparing financial statements and related management analyses.
- Assist the controller in monitoring cash flow.
- Propose, develop, and implement improvements to the efficiency of our accounting and financial processes.
- Prepare and submit monthly GST/QST tax reports.
- Assists in preparing for the annual external audit.
- Supports the Oracle NetSuite (ERP) administrator in maintaining and updating financial reports to optimize the platform and improve the efficiency of accounting processes.
- Represents the Finance team on the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Solutions Implementation Committee.
- You will be assigned the following tasks in the absence of a team member:
- Manage certain general ledger accounts, which involves analyzing their contents, making adjusting entries, performing variance analyses, and conducting balance sheet reconciliations.
- Record transactions related to investments, loans, debentures, and foreign currency purchase contracts.
- Responsible for monthly budget tracking by department.
- Support the Finance and Operations teams in their day-to-day financial activities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- 7+ years of relevant experience.
- Fluency in French and English (a plus) in both written and spoken forms, as our clients and suppliers are international.
- Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
- Member of the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec (CPA).
- Knowledge of NetSuite software (a plus).
- Responsible, self-motivated, organized, and able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks with simultaneous and challenging deadlines.
- Initiative, attention to detail, and sound judgment.
