MEMS Technology

12 December 2019

Did you know that devices barely bigger than the diameter of a hair could save your life? Indeed, the technology of MEMS has allowed the miniaturization of “machine” which thanks to their released structures and free movement, react to their environment and transforms the movement into an electrical signal. Thus an accelerometer of about 1 mm x 1 mm allows the triggering of an air bag when it detects a rapid deceleration of the vehicle. Several other MEMS are present in cars to ensure safe driving and the number will only increase in the next few years.
