Great success for the first Metrology Symposium organized by C2MI and CISEQ in collaboration with Hoskin Scientifique
Bromont, June 3rd, 2014 – On May 28thand 29th, the MiQro Innovation Collaborative Center (C2MI) held the first Metrology Symposium for companies in high-technology as well as academic institutions and scientists.
Over 100 participants (engineers, scientists, technicians and researchers) attended 11 differents workshops that highlighted the new technologies in the metrology fields.
Technical dimensional measurements for 2D and 3D, pressure distribution, robotive non-destructive inspection, surface characterization, microscopic inspection, X-ray analysis and humidity and temperature measurenents were at the agenda for this two day event. Participants were able to interact with exhibitors, to discuss about the technologies and see how these technologies are able to solve the challenges faced in their everyday operations. Representatives of the following compagnies : IBM Canada, Teledyne DALSA, GE-Aviation, Pratt & Whitney, BRP, Bombardier aerospace, Solaxis, DBM Reflex, Analogic, CBRE, Stas as well as academic and research institutions : Université Laval, Université de Sherbrooke, École Polytechnique, CNRC and IREQ expressed a high level of satisfaction in the survey. Participants indicated that the Symposium helped them improved their knowledge and that they can put it in practice in their respective workplaces.
These results are consistent with the mandate of the CISEQ (Créneau de l’insdustrie des systèmes électroniques du Québec) that is to promote innovation through collaboration between industries and the academic, develop a highly skilled workforce, facilitate networking and contribute to business development by improving productivity.
